Generosity Respect Integrity Trust
Grit Insurance Group is an independent insurance brokerage built by people who came up in the trades. We write surety bonds and commercial insurance for contractors nationwide, and we help them qualify for the bonds that open the door to bigger work.
Surety is where most of our client relationships start. License bonds, bid bonds, performance and payment bonds, subdivision and maintenance bonds. We do not decline a submission. Our job is to find the path to yes, then build the program around it: working capital, financial statement positioning, bonding capacity, and a perpetuation plan the surety will sign off on.
From there we handle the rest of the business. General liability, workers comp, commercial auto, equipment and inland marine, builders risk, and key person life insurance. We also write real estate and landlord accounts, farm and ranch, and high-net-worth personal lines.
Our name is our standard. GRIT stands for Generosity, Respect, Integrity and Trust, and it is how we treat every client, every carrier, and each other. GRIT is what it takes to put it back together when it goes wrong.
Founded by Kirk Chester, who has been in insurance since 2000, Grit is headquartered in Salt Lake City with a presence in Park City and Challis, Idaho. Our team serves contractors and business owners across the country and adds state licenses as our clients need them.
